How sad is this? We operate on fear… We do things because we are afraid. Brings me back to a completely unrelated topic of testing. Even when they say that the testing is done to collect data, it is used to evaluate, and the fear is created in every teacher that they will not pass. It is only understandable that yes, that’s how it should be. Fear will move mountains. Hey, even NASA was created out of fear that Russians would be first.. in something. The agency is a product of the cold war.

And then, of course, the never-ending debate of why we should spend ALL THIS money on some obscure planet when we do not have money on the poor, the homeless, and the sick. It is the most ludicrous conversation one could have… NASA has a minuscule budget. Education has an even tinier budget. No money for all the good things. All the money for the military… I mean weapons and all scary loud things, not for the returning vets of course. Who cares about that? We need to change that. I wonder if it is possible. To change ALL THAT.
